From Sunshine to Free Fuel
Put a sunbeam in your tank. For owners of electric cars, the William R. Sinkin Eco Centro has two Electronic Vehicle (EV) charging stations on their parking lot available to the public. The EV charging stations are solar powered – getting energy from a renewable source that is off the grid. And best of all, the EV charging stations are free to use.
Each EV charging station can connect to two vehicles at the same time. According to Steven Lewis, director of the Sinkin Eco Centro, the community center has the only two solar powered EV chargers in San Antonio. “We encourage members of our community to adopt environmentally friendly transportation options, and offering community members free vehicle charges is one way to get that message across,” Lewis explains.
